The Friends page on the Apple Watch (pictured above) is one of the interesting innovations that Apple came up with for their first wearable. For those of you not familiar with it, this is the page that allows you press the bottom button on the watch and go directly to a page with your twelve closest friends and family members. From there, you can quickly text or call these friends, or even send little doodles or your heartbeat. It is really one of the more innovative features of the Apple Watch.
When you first link your Apple Watch to your iPhone, it will automatically add any contacts in your Favorites to the Friends page of your Apple Watch. However, if you are like me, you probably did not add many contacts to your Favorites on your Apple Watch. And if you try to add contacts to your Favorites after you initially pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone, they will not be automatically added to your Apple Watch Friends page. So you may be wondering, “how do I add friends to my Apple Watch Friends Page?” Fortunately, it is not difficult, though not completely intuitive:
Step 1: On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app and click on the My Watch tab at the bottom of the screen. You should see a list of apps that you can click to configure, as shown in Figure 1.
Step 2: Scroll down until you see the Friends app listed and click on it. You should be taken to a screen that looks like Figure 2.
Step 3: Click on Add Friend in one of the open spots, scroll through your contacts until you find the person you want to add and click on their name.
That’s it. It is as easy as that. The person you added should then show up on your Friends page on your Apple Watch. So the next time one of your friends asks you “how do I add friends to my Apple Watch Friends Page?” you will know the answer. Or better yet, you can refer them here. Let me know if it does not work for you!
